Mixing Alcohol and Other Drugs |
Mixing alcohol and other drugs (including medicines) can get you into a lot of trouble. Mixing can make the effects of the alcohol or the other drugs stronger, and can cause cramps, headaches, or even make you stop breathing. Shutting down the central nervous system is never smart. Alcohol use can also make depression worse and can cause sleeping problems. If you take medication, ask your doctor or pharmacist about alcohol use. Some medications don't work properly if you mix them with alcohol.
