About Cannabis |
Cannabis, which includes marijuana, hashish (or hash) and hash oil, comes from a plant called Cannabis Sativa. You might also hear marijuana being called mary jane, weed, joint, pot, dope or ganja (and lots of other terms.) All cannabis products contain THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the chemical that changes how you think, feel and act.
Marijuana is made from the dried leaves and flowering tops of the cannabis plant. Hash is resin from the plant that is dried in dark-brown chunks. Hash oil is a reddish-brown or green oil from the plant. Hash and hash oil are stronger than marijuana because they have more THC. Cannabis on the market today can be a lot stronger than it was 20 years ago because growers have used genetic engineering to make plants that have higher levels of THC.
