About Cannabis |
THC, the active ingredient in cannabis, gets stored in your brain and other body tissue for a long time (longer than other drugs). It can affect your memory, your speech and how you learn. Who needs people ticked off at you because you forgot to do something you promised?
Remember, cannabis can affect your sense of time and distance and your ability to concentrate. That's why it's dangerous to do things like drive a car, ride a bike or operate machinery when you're using cannabis. You might also make decisions when you are high that you will regret later.
At a party it can seem like everyone is using the drug. Yet, Ontario statistics show that only about 29% of high school students said they tried cannabis at least once in a year. That means that most people (71%) didn't do it.
